Birthing injury question

I recently gave birth to a healthy 9lbs baby. The pregnancy went great and all is well with my child. The problem lays upon my well being. There was a screw up as I had a C-section and there was something that was left inside of me after I was stiched up. After my check up while I was out of the hospital I was having some issue. I got checked out and low and behold they got to go back in and remove this thing. It is not life threating but I’m going to have to get surgery again. I hired an attorney and they are claiming medical malpractice. I live in Chicago now and I hired an attorney out of Chicago. Do you give lawsuit funding for birth injury? I know some companies won’t touch medical malpractice for some reason.
