Slip & Fall

Slip & Fall Litigation Financing

If you are currently searching for slip and fall litigation financing, begin by applying online with LawLeaf today. Slip and fall litigation financing is an advance against a pending or already settled claim. The money is borrowed from a hedge fund or investor with an agreement the loan will be paid back with interest after the case has reached a settlement. Litigation financing is non-recourse meaning if you lose your case, you don’t pay back the lender.

At LawLeaf we receive inquires from clients each week that have been involved in slip and fall cases. The most common question we receive is how much money can be obtained through an advance in regards to a slip and fall.

Slip and falls are classified as personal injury related cases. This means that the person that was injured they may receive compensation for damages resulting in the injury. When determining the amount of money you may borrow against a slip and fall it’s important to first understand the total worth of your claim. Slip and fall litigation financing can provide a plaintiff a percentage of the total worth of a claim. The percentages typically range from 5%-20% for pre settlement cases and upwards of 25% for slip and fall cases that have already been settled.

What does this mean? If your attorney estimates the dollar amount of the case is worth $100,000 and liability is clear, the plaintiff may receive upwards of $20,000 for a claim that is going through the litigation process i.e. pre settlement funding. If the claimant recently won a verdict or a settlement was reached for $100,000 a person may receive $25,000+ also referred as post settlement funding.

Slip and fall litigation financing is oftentimes used by plaintiffs that are unwilling to settle their case for less than fair compensation. If the insurance company or defendant is unwilling to settle the case for the total amount requested by the plaintiff the case could go on for months or years. If the claimant is not in the financial position to wait they may consider an early settlement or perhaps litigation financing.

If you are considering litigation financing for a slip and fall lawsuit, begin by contacting LawLeaf today.

Slip and Fall Injury

I slipped on an oily substance at Sears and injured my right wrist (I am right handed). An incident report was made and an absorbant material was placed on the area of the floor where the fall occured. I experienced pain when using my hand, but thought it would resolve with Motrin. After several weeks with no improvement, I went to a specialist who diagnosed ligament injury (possibly tears) and trigger finger ligament injury. I was given a cortisone injection in my hand and a splint to be worn for 4-6 weeks. Now, Sears says it will not cover my medical bills, because there was a gap in treatment. They were aware that I was trying to improve the condition with anti-inflamatories prior to seeing a doctor, and made no mention of gap in treatment. Do I have a case for reimbursement?

Legal Issue Need Money

I have a friend that contacted Lawleaf and was able to get a personal injury loan with your company. This was probably about 6 months ago. I was talking with him about my legal issue and he recommended contacting your company. I don’t have a lawyer yet so I haven’t filled out your contact form. I wanted to know if this sounds like something you could provide funding for. I was working on a project with a few of my friends in a bar down the street from my home. I was walking down the stairs to use the bathroom and I grabbed the banister and it flew off. I fell down a flight of stairs, went to brace myself and broke my collar bone. This was last month. I know the owner of the bar and was planning on working it out with him. When I presented him with my medical bills and my loss of wages he told me to fly a kite in so many words.

I’ve been out of work for the last month and I’m still getting physical therapy on my shoulder. I am going to hire a lawyer this week. I’m not real sure if this is the type of case that you could work with but I really hope you can. You came recommended by a friend of mine and he said that your company can work with a lot of different types of personal injury cases. Also, if you could recommend a good lawyer out of Boston, MA that would really help me.

Considering Applying Please Help

I’m considering applying for a settlement advance with your company and I need help to figure how much I would be approved for my case. I am very wet in the ears about how this whole business process works so please bear with me. I was involved in a slip and fall accident outside of a local restaurant in San Francisco. They had some plank board laying on the ground because they are doing construction on one side of the building. When I turned the corner with my girlfriend I slipped and fell onto the ground at space age pace. I landed on the barrier concrete slab that you see in parking lots. The slab that a vehicle pulls up to when parking. When I landed I braced my fall with my right hand, turned over my wrist (broken) and my right side of my face landed on the concrete slab. My girlfriend immediately ran into the restaurant as I laid semi passed out from the fall. I woke up looking at 4 people none of which I recognized accept for my girl friend. They asked me if I could stand up and after about 30 plus seconds I made it to my feet, looked at my hand, blown up and steadily made it back to the ground again. Before they could call an ambulance I told my girl friend to just drive me in my car to the hospital which she did. After about 4 hours in the emergency room I was released from the hospital. I have not hired an attorney yet because I’ve not had time to meet with one. I do want to sign up for a lawsuit advance but I’m not real sure how much my claim will be worth nor do I have any understanding how much your company will lend. Please help me to figure out these numbers and let me know how much you think I could get from your lenders.

Settlement Loan New York City

I am living in New York City and searching for a settlement loan. The reason why I’m searching for a settlement loan is because I recently lost my job and I don’t have an income coming in right now. My case involves a personal injury & it happened when I was about to take a train into Long Island to visit my sister in law. The top of the ceiling in the train station was leaking and had been for some time. Unfortunately no one took the responsibility to clean it up or at least put signs down. I was in a hurry and as I was walking at a brisk pace I slipped and fell on the concrete. When I landed to brace myself I broke my arm. It really hurt bad but I went numb pretty quick. I was taken to NYU medical center and had a cast put on my arm. It took me out of work for several weeks and than to make things worse my arm didn’t heal correctly and I lost my job as the result. I hired a personal injury attorney and he is handling my case. I am going to use the settlement loan to help pay for rent while I’m looking for a new job. The way the job market has been it will probably take me longer than I want. My question is about the slip and fall cases. I see that you will take slip and fall cases but I’m unclear about how long it will take for me to get the settlement loan. Can you please explain this process to me so I’m a little clearer.

Settlement Funding Austin Lawsuit

I have a pending lawsuit out of Austin Texas and I would like your feedback on what type of settlement funding options are available to me if I decide to apply with your company. The lawsuit is about 6 months old and its for a slip and fall case against a large drug store chain. I was shopping for some items when I fell on a huge wet spot in the middle of the floor. There was a leak that was coming from the top of the ceiling and apparently the employees there were to busy to clean up the mess. I’ve got to think it was reported but just ignored. As a result of the fall, I broke an ankle and sprained my arm (wrist) as I was bracing myself. My arm slid because of the standing water and when I landed it felt like a ton of bricks hit me. I am a little over weight so when I fell I probably took a larger hit on my body. As crazy as it may sound I was able to take a picture of the ceiling with my cell phone, although blurry my attorney told me it was a good thing I did.

I am now trying to figure out what I need to do to get some money before my case reaches a settlement ie. settlement funding comes to mind. I have read over a ton of web sites tonight and I would like to know how my case would be treated by your company and if you can give me a general idea of time frames and rates. I just need more information on the lawsuit funding process. I hope I provided you with enough information here to give me a good answer.

Litigation Financing without Attorney

I was injured back in September of last year. I hired a personal injury attorney and found it to be a waste of my time because nothing was getting done. I have since decided to handle the case on my own. The case is a slip and fall against a bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The lawsuit is already filed. Since this happened I have lost days and even weeks of work rehabilitating a bad ankle sprain. I have tried to sign up in the past for litigation financing with several other companies but they told me without an attorney representing me I couldn’t get a loan. I was wondering if you have a company or could provide pre settlement financing for my case even though I don’t have an attorney to represent me right now?

Injured in a fall at Apartment

I live in an apartment complex Nebraska and I was injured when I took a fall on the stair case. The other 3 tenants on the second floor have complained about a light being out in the apartment staircase for the last month. We were going to change it ourselves but we felt we shouldn’t be obligated to change the lighting inside the stairwell. Two weeks ago I was carrying a few items from storage and I fell over a package that was in the middle of the opening outside of my apartment door. I didn’t see the package at all because at night its almost pitch black. I hired an attorney last Friday and we are filing a lawsuit against the apartment complex for negligence. When I fell I injured my back pretty bad and I was rushed to the hospital because I couldn’t move. My expenses for the hosptial visit, I will have ongoing medical expenses and I will be out of work for another few weeks. I am an hourly wage worker that doesn’t work on a salary so everyday I miss work is another day I don’t get paid. I would like to know if your company can provide some sort of lawsuit funding for my case? There is no doubt that I will win a settlement but it could take a little more time. Time is not on my side and I need money right now. Can you please let me know if this is something your company could help me with right now?

Tenant Injury Apartment Complex

I am a tenant in an apartment complex and I fell down and seriously injured myself due to a broken step that was never fixed. This step leads out of my apartment complex and has been reported broken several times throughout the last two months. They never did bother fixing the step and there isn’t even a handrailing either. When I fell I broke my arm and have injury to my side. I filed a lawsuit against the apartment building last month. Do I have a chance of getting a lawsuit cash advance for my case? I live in Des Moines, Iowa

Wyoming legal funding question

I live in Wyoming and will soon be requesting legal funding for a personal injury case involving a slip and fall. Before I apply for lawsuit funding I would like to speak with a lender. Is there a way you can give me access to one of your lenders without signing up for funding. I have several questions I would like to talk about and would prefer them speaking with me before talking with my attorney.

Maine lawsuit cash advances Train Accident

I have already filed a lawsuit against a company due to a slip and fall case involved in a train. The accident occurred months ago. I live in Maine. What are the typical rates for train accident cases and how quickly will an approval take if I decide to sign up for funding. I am going to look to get some sort of lawsuit advance for my case but interested in your service. Sounds like you have several lenders whom would be willing to look at this case. I also would like to know if there is a difference in the type of funding for my case. I am working right now but did have to take off a few days to get a leg brace and I can’t put much weight on my leg right now which has effected my work a bit.

Missouri Cash Advances

I live in St. Louis Missouri and I’m searching for a company that can provide a cash advance in my state. I was walking in a department store just last week when I slipped and fell in the backroom where you try items on. The floor was an absolute mess and when I went into one of the dressing rooms I slipped and hurt myself from the impact of the fall. I’ve already hired an attorney and we are actively filing suit against the store. I would like to know if I can now apply for a lawsuit cash advance now or should I wait until the case goes further? When is the right time to sign up for a lawsuit cash advance? This is a slip and fall case.

Cruise Ship Accident

I was vacationing on a cruise ship with my fiancee and she slip and fell and injured her leg. The staff on board did a poor job in cleaning up a spill that happened during a catered dinner. The accident happened near the end of the vacation thank goodness. We hired a lawyer out of California that handles these sort of accidents and we are close to reaching a settlement without having to go to court. Because we are trying to buy a home and she is out of work for the time being we are considering signing up for a lawsuit loan to help pay for a down payment on a house that we have our eyes on right now. I’m not very familiar with how the process works. Can you please clarify if we decided to apply with a company will they look at the case even if looks like it won’t be settled in court but out of court? I’m assuming your lenders will charge higher rates if the case goes long term which makes sense.

Slip & Fell in a bar

I am file a lawsuit against a bar. I had just arrived to a bar in Madison when I fell down the stairs because the railing was not tightly screwed into the wall and it came out of the wall when I fell. I hired an attorney fairly quickly soon after the accident. I was not intoxicated because I hadn’t yet took my first sip of alcohol. I have been applying for lawsuit funding in the past and was denied because of the fear that I was drunk in the bar and all reports including the medical report in which they took states that I wasn’t under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. I am unsure whether I will ever be able to get any money out of this case because all these companies I applied for think I have a weak case.

My attorney told me that he has dealt with this builder in the past and they are very hard to work with. I need a lawsuit cash advance because this case is going to take too long. Does your company get money for construction accidents?

Sears / Kmart Incident Center

After a slip and fall in Sept. 2007, I have been told today, 9-05-2008 ,that my pain and suffering is estimated to 2500.00 and 850.00 re-inbursed to my insurance company. I have been told all of my medical forms show that the therapy I have had seem to be the only absolute evidence to the injury. I am uncertain if I should seek an attorney because I do not know how to request the amount be DOUBLED. HELP
