Dog Bite Injury and Compensation
I have hired an attorney for a dog bite case and I was attacked by a pitbull and so was my dog which is a puppy. We are suing the property owner for damages because his dog got off the leash and there was no one to stop the dog from biting me. When I finally got a hold of the dog as it had its mouth around my dog I pinned the dog to the ground and yelled for help. The owner of the dog came running out of his property and grabbed the dog up and yelled at me. He said that I was on his property and that the dog was only protecting him. The leash was torn from the ground and I was wrapped up in the chain. Does this seem right and what can you make of this case? I am living in Los Angeles California.

It seems like you’ve taken the first step and hired a personal injury attorney. I would have a conversation with your attorney and find out if he has taken similar cases in which the owner maintained innocents and blamed the other person for the dog attack. The leash torn from the ground is a pretty good indication that the dog is aggressive and I think you may have a decent case against the owner of the dog however I’m not an attorney and without fully knowing the full details of your case its hard to say. I would have this conversation with your attorney.
