FELA & JONES ACT Litigation Financing

I work for an attorney that handles litigation cases for FELA (Federal Employees Liability Act) and Jones ACT dealing in Maritime law. We come across clients that oftentimes are searching for lawsuit funding because these cases can take so long to settle. The attorney has asked me to research the different types of litigation financing companies available to our clients as a referral service. We understand there are several different companies to choose from but based upon his lack of experience in dealing with companies that finance lawsuits he has requested me to be part of the evaluation process. He has worked with several companies whom all have been unsuccessful in providing funding for our clients. Due to the laws within our state it has been brought to my attention the firm is not legally able to loan money to our clients for one reason or another. This has become an issue in trying to convince our clients to wait for the full worth of their case. We deal with other types of injury cases but most settle prior to reaching the system. We were thinking of putting together litigation financing packets for our customers of the different companies that provide lawsuit funding for both FELA & Jones ACT litigation claims. While looking over your other website I’ve discovered that your company is a direct source to several different funding agencies that handle personal injury related cases. I see that you handle maritime law and railroad and train injuries but FELA and Jones Act cases are a little different than what is described on your website. If you can provide your services to both FELA & Jones Act claims please read my proposition.

I have read over a lot of information tonight about your company on both your websites and other sites. I think we could have a fit with your company. If your company would like to be the point of contact for our clients please contact our firm at ####. When calling into the firm please ask for ### that is me. I would like to have a brief conversation with a representative to see if we can get additional information on Law Leaf. This would save me a boat load of time and headache just dealing with one company instead of dealing with 10 as you can imagine.

While waiting for the call please provide the following information: Would your company like to spear head our litigation financing needs? If so, would it be possible to have one point of contact instead of 10 different lenders within your company to contact the attorney (less would be better) as we don’t want to be inundated by phone calls. Would you be willing to send 100 or so marketing packages to our firm? This will be used when a client asks for litigation financing for their case. We have other attorneys in the firm that also may be interested in your service for different types of cases. This information would also be used for their clients.

Lastly, if you don’t want to be part of the program or can’t because you don’t provide services for these cases, please email me with companies that provide funding for FELA & Jones Act lawsuits (that you would recommend). My email is ###. I apologize for the lengthy message and I hope to hear from you very soon.

  1. Thank you very much for posting the question and yes, LawLeaf would be very interested in partnering with your law firm for FELA and Jones Act lawsuits. We provide settlement loan services for both of these types of lawsuits and certainly would be interested in participating in your program. I have personally dropped a note to one of our representatives to be in contact with you first thing tomorrow morning. As to your questions: We will provide services to both FELA & Jones Act lawsuits as well as any other cases you provide. I ### out your contact information but was able to find the firm through your email address. We can provide our services for all your personal injury cases listed on your website as well as several of the others ie. workers compensation & commercial lit claims. While most of our clients prefer direct contact from our lenders we certainly can assign a case manager to your firm to be the point of contact. This would mean getting all the case documents prepared for the bidding process. We do have some marketing material (may need a little tweaking) that we can send down to you. We appreciate the opportunity to work with your firm and you will be hearing from one of our representatives tomorrow.

  3. That would be fantastic. I have one other question (can’t believe your company answers questions so late!): Does lawleaf have any other law firms that have put together programs like the one I’m explaining?

  5. We have people working all the time. We process applications all day and night! As to your question, I have no idea of what programs we’ve set-up with attorneys nor if they are similar to what you are proposing. I can tell you that we get a ton of lawyer referrals coming through the site. I’m not sure if there is a program set in place with any of these attorneys but I see comments suggesting per the attorney referral etc. My first instinct would be yes, but what type of program, I have no idea. This is something you can talk to the representative about tomorrow. Any other questions, shoot away!
