Risk Profile

I am searching for litigation financing and I’m coming across a term called risk profile. I have read several sites that state when applying through their company that they based their decision on liens, injuries and risk profiles. I understand that these decision are looked at by a company based upon several aspects but when we are talking about risk profiles can you please explain to me what exactly does that mean.

  1. I am not that aware of the term “risk profile” in terms of litigation financing. What I think this probably means is when a company evaluates an applicant for a cash advance they look at several different items; injuries, liability, location & strength of case, value of case. Risk profile is probably a combination of several of these items. The risk that a company would take in order to fund a case. If the risk is high such as liability isn’t clear your risk profile goes up meaning that if funded the rates will probably be a little higher because there is a better chance your attorney won’t win your case. The lower the risk profile the better chance you have to get the case funded.
